What is the Kyoto
Protocol?

What is the Kyoto Accord/Protocol?
It is a framework that will likely
be modified, but here is how it was expected to be implemented:
On the re-growth side:
A Trillion Dollar Fund
($1,000,000,000,000 US) was created, which would be spent annually on planting,
renewing, restoring and eliminating further deforestation.
| $1,000,000,000,000,00 |
| This is a very large number of
dollars - to be spent rewarding those who plant indigenous trees. |
The
legislation required that the money must be spent in the same year it
was received. Fundamentally, it rewards those who plant, renew, restore, or retain
forests.
On the Carbon Dioxide production penalty side:
The Kyoto Agreement penalizes
industries, such a Cement-making, by applying a "tax" on the amount of
Carbon Dioxide they produce. Surprisingly, Cement-making contributes a huge 7% to the world problem,
as the active ingredient in Cement is Calcium Carbonate, which creates Carbon
Dioxide. Because our Atmosphere is a global entity,
the expectation was that penalized industries would benefit from planting trees,
called an "offset".
|
What is an
"Offset" ? |
| Example of an "offset": Ontario Hydro, for example,
was negotiating to spend
$6,000,000,000 (six billion dollars) to buy a small island in Costa Rica to
mitigate (offset) Ontario Hydro's carbon dioxide produced from burning petroleum to make
electricity. Coordinated by Maurice Strong, then Chairman of Ontario Hydro
- and deputy UN Secretary General and also senior advisor to
the World Bank.

Carbon Dioxide Banks:
Carbon Dioxide Banks will soon be set up to enable the smooth
transition. It is expected that about $2.5 Trillion would be spent annually
on re-forestation. That's a lot of money, and will be paid from a 2.25%
worldwide tax. It has been signed into approval by 155 major countries, and only
one country remains unsigned - the USA. (and possibly Australia?) Strong opposition from Petroleum producers is expected. Once the US
signs on to the Kyoto Agreement, it will become virtually a worldwide
law. The 2.25% tax is a tax on GNP, the Gross National Product
of a country - so it includes everything. Of course, these numbers may change.

How can you benefit - and do something to help the earth?
Anyone with land, in any condition, will be able
to benefit by upgrading their land to be able to support trees - and be paid
handsomely for it. Oversimplified, if your land is a lowly
2-on-a-scale-of-10, you will benefit by upgrading your land to a level-3 or
level-4. You will benefit each year that you upgrade your land towards its
indigenous original condition, usually treed. If your
land is already a level-8 or level-9, then you will be paid annually for not
clear-cutting your property. To file, you'd submit before-and-after pictures and
a full detail of the remediation, including the acreage involved. Of course, it's not that simple, but this
oversimplification explains the objective and reward.
The maximum rewards
Will occur in the first few years, when few
landowners will bother to participate or file for rewards. The UN legislation
requires that the Trillion Dollars be spent in the year it is received, so if few
people apply to the Trillion Dollar fund, then the Trillion will be divided up
amongst those who have filed. Initially, you might have a one-acre yard that you
upgrade. We foresee grandmothers making millions by converting an awful
backyard into a tree-growing area. Of course, some large landowners will make a
fortune by participating.
What can you do to benefit?
Because it doesn't matter where on the
globe that you produce tree-growing, you could make a fortune by buying up land
where land is cheap - say, Bolivia. Planting is cheap, it just takes seeds or
seedlings and a bit of water management. There will probably be more wealth
created by the Kyoto Agreement than was made in the Gold Rush. Good Luck.
Remember that all along, you are doing a good thing for this planet,
its survival, its future and its children. |
| Opportunities
Created by the Kyoto Protocol - for the Planet and Investors |
Are you confused by the News Media talk about
Global Warming? As Al Gore
says in his excellent movie, The Convenient Truth, most of
the "news" articles that make it into the media are
actually political spin from special-interest groups. They're
designed to create confusion and deflect the public's attention away
from the actual facts. Think
Positive About Global Warming Solutions
If you find the talk of Global
Warming to be dooming and glooming, then you need to join the positive
side of solving Kyoto. As a Global problem, Global Warming is a
complex issue, but can be reduced down to two things:
- We need to stop doing all
the negative things that are spewing out Carbon Dioxide, which
include different tree management, water, soil, cement
production, and some engine-types, like 2-cylinder engines.
- We need to do all the
positive things that are removing Carbon Dioxide, such as
planting trees and retaining trees that are sucking Carbon
Dioxide out of the air. We need to re-green the planet - now.
You don't need to do them all
single-handedly, but together as a planet, we can accomplish it together.
Below are examples of the opportunities:
Several opportunities exist that both benefit the planet, and offer significant financial benefit to investors
New Technologies: As UN Delegates, several
new-technology
opportunities were brought to us which we'd like to develop. We're assembling the right team of management and financial supporters to do this.
Power Generation: For
generating power using new technologies, tested, but not currently in mass
production. Developed by the Skunk Works of a Fortune 500 company, who are simply not interested in pursuing this
venture, due to their own internal challenges.
Land Assembly: For planting trees on a world scale.
Seed and Seedling Production: To supply the mammoth need for indigenous tree seedlings to plant. Existing
Seedling production is insufficient for the massive plantings needed.
Marketing of the Kyoto Protocol Opportunity: So that every landowner, large & small can plant
trees and be rewarded for participation. This will be a program to raise the awareness of Global Warming, and invite participation in a unique way.
Desert Water Solution: We created,
tested and patented a device that can suck water from the dry desert air to
nurture trees in the deserts. Each device can sustain 8 trees, and millions would be used to replant the edges of deserts.
Banking Opportunity: Global Warming credits will need to be exchanged between
those that create Carbon Dioxide solutions and the Kyoto Protocol Fund. We

We'd especially
like you involved if you have any of these resources:
If you have financial resources: Let
us show you some earth-positive opportunities that will yield significant
financial gains, and help the planet.
If you have land ownership resources: There
are huge opportunities created by the Kyoto Protocol.
If you have seedling management experience: In
the fields of seedling propagation & replanting.
If you have media experience and access
to mass-media: You can help by telling others about these genuine
opportunities.
If you have none of the above, but
would like to help, please get onto our e-mailing list now anyway. The
Kyoto Protocol was created without government support by ordinary folks
with little money. You can make a difference.

they unfold.

Background:
AVI Digital's owner, Doug White, has been active in the environment since
1992: Earth Summit 1992, Rio
de Janiero, Brazil: As part of the Earth Day International Team, created
the largest event at the Earth Summit, with the Brazilian press reporting
300,000 to 500,000 participants. In attendance were Olivia Newton-John,
Shirley MacLain & The Beach Boys. Global
Warming Research & Development Ltd:
#2 person on the team,
Doug White was also co-creator of the video that united the UN Delegates to
support a single solution - the Kyoto Agreement. See United
Nations, UN Delegate for Global Warming, which created the Kyoto
Protocol. When Keith Wold died, Doug White was asked to take his place and
"table" the Kyoto Protocol in Geneva - the highest honor
conveyed by the UN Delegates. AVI
Digital, 2007: We continue to do marketing of major companies and
encourage businesses to join in the successes. We are also encouraging
groups of companies or wealthy individuals to invest in Earth Positive
opportunities which are being generally ignored by current investors.
These investments should both outperform the market and survive in a
post-Kyoto economy. Click HERE for

Doug continues as CEO of AVI Digital, and makes speeches at large and
small events - Earth-Positive speeches. To receive information,
